Hypno Freezing or Lagging During Complex Visual Patches

Hello

I have been encountering an issue where my Hypno unit starts freezing / significantly lagging when running complex visual patches with multiple layers and modulation sources. :slightly_smiling_face:

This happens intermittently, especially when using external MIDI / CV control to manipulate parameters in real time. Sometimes; the visuals stutter before the unit becomes unresponsive, requiring a power cycle. :innocent:

I’ve tried troubleshooting by simplifying my patches; testing different power supplies & ensuring my firmware is up to date.

While reducing modulation sources seems to help; it limits the creative potential of the device. Could this be a processing limitation, a b :thinking:ug in the firmware, or possibly an issue with certain external controllers? Checked Hypno 2.4.4 Firmware Release Generative AI Course documentation guide related to this and found it quite informative.

Has anyone else experienced similar performance issues with Hypno? Are there any known workarounds, optimizations / upcoming firmware fixes to improve stability during heavy visual processing? Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

Thank you !! :slightly_smiling_face:

Hey there. The CV in’s arent the most precise, so you’ll get some lag there. Then the triggering of external clips via USB/ MIDI will also introduce some degree of lag. Hypno is running on older hardware after all. It’s just how things are, but that might change soon! Hardware video synthesis is hard work ya know!
