Hey hey - here’s an interesting one. I’m on 0.163 and have successfully reproduced this a number of times.
After saving a .json of a patch that uses a shader, Hypno does not like when you recall it, and it slows down to a crawl. The UI stutters and the whole thing becomes sluggish / unusable. To get back to normal performance it requires a hard restart. This only occurs when you attempt to recall a patch with a shader in it. Not with recordings, or with new patches made with shaders from a fully init state. It sucks 'cuz you can make really dope stuff with shaders, but you have to record them to be able to recall them for now.
Theres a square shader? Idk how I missed that. I know all of the besties from Hyp 1 are there. This wasn’t one of the buried semi deep forbidden ones were they (they never worked for me)?
Re: yr bug, I’m on the same update, with no issues related to loading shaders so far… but have noted that if I load a preset that had an external interface attached (webcam for example) without the interface, it acts similarly to what you’ve mentioned.
Oh good the error readouts are working. Just delete it that was a test shader I accidentally left in an interim build to test the shader error readout since we now support user shaders, there are 5 default shaders for each channel (in the next patch they are more carefully write protected and labeled as such).
I’m working rn on the more advanced functions for shader editing.
